Avocado 將於首屆 Voices 藝術博覽會展出「黃贊倫」個展，除了「搖搖馬」、「安妮」等經典作品外，也將首度曝光最新作品「十二生肖 - 流年」，囊括了藝術家「造人」、「造物」、「造神」三個脈絡，以雕塑、動力裝置及繪畫呈現。

從全白冷調、科技材質的擬人化機器、一系列的人工改造物種，再到感知上賦予了溫度與血肉的仿真實生物。黃贊倫嘗試讓影像、繪畫、立體雕塑等不同的創作媒材能同步進行，再從這樣的狀態裡去觀察彼此。面對這些不同的媒材時，他試圖用同一種思考在不同的媒材上演練，讓這些作品看似獨立的呈現，卻又環環相扣著同一概念，傳達出想像與實存影像之間的關係。

黃贊倫的創作聚焦於透過生物與機械合體、混種等議題，創造共存於跨物種間的新生命形態。在自我認知與外在環境的多重辯證，以及個人面對科技化地各類系統隨之而來的技術規範下，反思人類地欲望如何保有其存在的價值和能動空間。

Avocado will showcase the solo exhibition of Huang Zan Lun at the inaugural Voices 2024. In addition to presenting classic works like "The Coin Operated Rocking Horse" and "Annie," the exhibition will unveil a new piece titled "Chinese Zodiac - Destiny." This collection encompasses the artist's exploration of three contexts: "creating humans," "creating creatures," and "creating gods," presented through sculptures, paintings and installations.

Starting from the all-white, cold-toned, technologically textured anthropomorphic machines to a series of artificially modified species, and further to the simulation of lifelike entities with warmth and flesh perception, Huang endeavors to synchronize various forms of creative expression such as video, painting, and sculpture. Faced with different mediums, he attempts to apply a consistent thought process across diverse media, allowing these seemingly independent presentations to interconnect around a central concept, conveying the relationship between imagination and the image of existence. Huang's works focus on issues related to the combination of biology and machinery, hybridization, and the generation of new life forms that coexist across species. In the dialectics of self-awareness and the external environment, as well as individual reflections on the technical norms brought about by various systems in the technologicalized world, he reflects on how human desires can maintain their value and agency.

Huang Zan Lun born in Yilan, Taiwan in 1979. Huang now lives and works in Yilan and Taipei. Huang holds a BFA fromTaiwan National University and a MFA from Taipei National University of the Arts in the field of fine arts. As a young emerging artist in Taiwan, Huang has held solo exhibitions in MOCA Taipei, Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei Artist Village. And his works have been shown in a five-year international touring exhibition organized by Vitra Design Museum in Germany as well as in Asolo Art Film Festival in Italy. Huang’s works focuses on the mixture and hybrid of biology and machine, which unfolds a multilayered dialectic discourse between human self-awareness and the external environment.
